Mentor

The Mentor Program for first year delegates was established to help them handle their professional responsibilities at the NEA Representative Assembly. The Mentor and Mentee should become a team.

Role of Mentor

The Mentor is an experienced delegate, well‐versed in the policies and processes of the Caucus and the Representative Assembly.

Mentee

Role of the Mentee

The typical Mentee will be a first-year delegate. The Mentee:

The NEA Convention Planning Committee will match mentees with mentors prior to the preconvention meeting Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The committee encourages all mentors to schedule a meet and greet with their mentees in June.

In addition, on July 3 and July 5 the mentor and mentees will have an opportunity to meet with the NEA Convention Planning Committee for 30 minutes prior to the caucus meeting.
